Pineapple, when translated to Fookien (a native Chinese dialect often used by the Filipino-Chinese community in the Philippines which originated from the Fu jian province, China), is read as "ong lai". This simply means "wealth is coming". With this, pineapples become a popular traditional feng shui symbol of wealth, prosperity, and fortune. However, it was not for this exact reason why I brought this home with me.

You see, the family business which my parents pioneered carries a logo of a pineapple. We still use the said logo up to now.
This is reason #1. Owning this would simply remind me of my family
specifically my parents. I brought this charm during my trip to Singapore last Christmas 2011 (it was my first time to visit there too).
This is my other reason.
I have one more reason: for the longest time my mom would give me a money gift.
So, I can buy what I really want or need. So yeah, guess what I brought? hehe. Indeed, this charm is such a treat to me. Thanks mom!!!
Have a Happy week ahead of you!
